Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned hiker, here on Across Every Border we want to provide information, tips and tricks for everyone! Ryan is a keen hiker and Sara is just beginning her hiking journey so together we have you covered!

HIKING TOP TIPS

  • Download the trail map on AllTrails before beginning, just in case you lose signal!
  • Take a spare t-shirt to change into at the peak of the hike so you can hike back down in dry clothes!
  • Always factor in distance and time into how much water and food you need to bring!

Attire

Always ensure you wear appropriate attire for hiking. Sensible walking shoes are a must for easy to moderate hikes and sturdy walking boots for harder and more technical hikes. We like to wear appropriate clothing such as dri-fit active tops and breathable pants. And don’t forget the snacks and hydration!

Cost

Most hiking destinations are free but some may have a small charge for conservation etc. The main cost of hiking lies in the initial purchasing of the gear and the travel cost to reach the trailheads.

Weather

Wherever you are, always check the weather in advance so you can dress and pack appropriately!
